Once upon a time, three young ladies named Kaila, Jayme, and Gabby, at Annapolis High School in Dearborn Heights, Michigan, organized a group and a fundraiser to help educate their peers about injustice in the world, and to raise money to help those suffering because of that injustice. After those remarkable young women graduated, that group continued its efforts to affect change in the world.
Today, the students of Annapolis High School have developed Students Helping End World Suffering, or SHEWS, because they want to help people beyond their borders. In this spirit, they have selected water in Africa as their focus. The students raise funds yearly through Penny Wars in order to support the construction or refurbishment of wells in areas of Africa in particular need, with a special focus on areas with children and schools. The students want to help end world suffering in whatever way they can, and The Water Project is it. This year, the goal is $2000.00 to be raised through Penny Wars and online donations.
Please show your support of the efforts of the students at Annapolis, as well as for the children in Africa who are in dire need of assistance, and donate to the cause.
SHEWS appreciates your support!
