Trading Hair for Water!
Help Fund a Water Project
Hi everybody!
My name is Stacey and one of my big dreams this year is to raise enough money to provide a well for a very underprivileged part of Africa.
Imagine having to walk several kilometers a day just to get a bucket of clean and safe drinking water, as opposed to a few steps to the kitchen tap.
Or worse, picture having to drink unsafe, germ filled water which causes diarrhea, trachom, guinea worm disease or ulcers!
Globally, an estimated 2,000 children under the age of five die everyday from diarrhoeal diseases and of these some 1,800 deaths are linked to water, sanitation and hygiene.
I'm not here to guilt trip you though! I'm here to provide you with some brave entertainment. On Saturday the 2nd of November I will be shaving off all my hair (yes a number 1!) to raise as much money as I possibly can for a well.
A well is about $7000 and I know this is a huge huge goal but I'm going to try and raise as much money as I possible can, and every little bit helps :)
I would love if you could support me by donating how much you think my nice long hair would be worth! It's not everyday you get to see a girl going bald!
As a bonus, I will also be donating my hair to make a cancer wig so someone else can enjoy my blonde locks!
I'm trading something that is very valuable to me, to give others a chance at life!

Why It Matters
Did you know nearly 1 billion people don't have safe water to drink?
Together, we can change that. Let's fund a new source of drinking water for those who suffer needlessly without it!
Our gifts will be used to construct or rehabilitate a water project, like a well or sand dam, in Africa. We'll see pictures, GPS coordinates, and updates as they come in from the actual water project we fund so we can celebrate the results along with the community we help.
