Water for Life – Supporting K'Omolo Community with Clean and Reliable Water
Background
K'Omolo Farm – Community-Based Organisation is a grassroots initiative based in Homa Bay County, Kenya. Our community practices sustainable agriculture (permaculture), supports orphans and widows, and promotes environmental resilience. However, we are now facing a serious water crisis due to the onset of the dry season.
Water sources such as rivers and streams are drying up, leaving our crops, animals, and households in distress. Our farms and families are at risk of hunger, dehydration, and water-borne diseases due to reliance on unsafe water sources.
The Need
To solve this urgent challenge, we are appealing for support to purchase a large-capacity water storage tank and install a basic water harvesting system. This will help us store clean rainwater and support our:
Community vegetable gardens
Livestock
Orphan and widow support program
General household needs
Funding Request
We are requesting USD $2,000 to enable us to purchase and install a 10,000-liter water storage tank with essential accessories.
