I've been fortunate enough to have access to clean water and fresh food my entire life. I don't know the struggles of not having clean drinking water, but I do know how unnecessary it is that so many people go without it every day. No one deserves to struggle for the basic things in life and everyone deserves the basic necessities for a healthy and happy life. Our life is a gift and it's our duty to give our gifts to others and help build a better, more sustainable world. So much of my attitude and lifestyle has shifted in response to my understanding of the African philosophy, "Ubuntu." A simple understanding of this translates to, "I am because we are" or "I am what I am because of who we all are." We affirm our humanity when we acknowledge that of others. It speaks of the fact that my humanity is caught up and is bound up in yours. It speaks of compassion, wholeness, and realizing that WE ARE ONE. I hope you'll consider joining me to fund a water well project. With your gifts and your help rallying support, we can provide clean, safe and reliable water to a community in Africa.
Today, too many children suffer needlessly - walking miles for dirty water that makes them sick. You and I can change that. Please make a donation and then help me spread the word. With clean water comes better agriculture, less disease, a better life for those in need, and a chance to break the cycle of poverty. We are all in this together and it's time we started acting like it.
|This is awesome!!!
Did you know nearly 1 billion people don't have safe water to drink?
Together, we can change that. Let's fund a new source of drinking water for those who suffer needlessly without it!
Our gifts will be used to construct or rehabilitate a water project, like a well or sand dam, in Africa. We'll see pictures, GPS coordinates, and updates as they come in from the actual water project we fund so we can celebrate the results along with the community we help.
The Water Project, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization unlocking human potential by providing clean, safe water to communities around the world who suffer needlessly without.
Working with local partners in countries like Kenya, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, and Uganda, we build long lasting water projects that are organized, owned and managed by the communities receiving them.
Together, with our partners we identify, implement, report on and follow up on every project. Then we share the whole story with you to inspire confidence in the work being done and the impact it has.
