"We want you to help us so the people in the village don't die and we need $21,000 to do it. That's why we need you." - Leo
"I think this would be a great organisation to support because of the important goal and because of the amount of suffering there is in that area. Our goal would be roughly 21.5 thousand dollars to help this foundation to get a water pump for a clean water source to have a burst of life." - Hamish
Hamish and Leo have chosen to support the building of a well in this small town in Sierra Leone. The reason they chose this project was that it is meant to start at the end of July, but only 9% of funds have been raised and there is over $21K needed in order to bore for water. The boys feel this is somewhere our help can make a big difference and have donated the contents of their 'give' pocket money jars to this cause.
Children in this town miss a great deal of school in order to trek to and queue at a clean water source. Even then, some little children are beaten in fights over the limited water supply. This project also centres around maintenance of the well once it is installed and education around sanitation for the community, so the change is lasting and very profound.
Please consider giving the coins in your giving jar, next week's pocket money, the loose change in your wallet or whatever you can afford right now.
Also, if you could ask just ONE other person you know to take a look into our fundraiser and donate and/or share, that would be great.
