Help Fund a Water Project
Several years ago I visited Kenya, Africa and during my stay I distributed water bottles to roughly 50 underprivileged children who suffer needlessly without clean water. I am now looking to make an even bigger impact on hundreds of lives by providing clean water for Africa.
It's hard to believe that more often than not, the clean water a developing community desperately needs is right underneath them. And it's amazing how a relatively small investment to get to it can make such a dramatic difference in so many lives.
$10 - One Person Clean Water for 10 yrs, $50 - Give a Family CleanWater, $250 - Water for a Classroom, $1,000 - Purchase a Well Pump$6,500 - Fund an Entire Project
On January 29, 2012 I am going to run in the ING Miami Marathon to raise enough money to build a well in Africa.
That's 26.2 miles of sweating, pushing, giving everything I've got.
Doesn’t sound easy right? Well imagine doing all of that without clean water.
Every week in Africa, millions of women and their children walk more than 12 miles just to get water for their families. Most of this water is contaminated, but it's the only water they have to drink. They are at risk of being stricken with diseases like bilharzia and schistosomiasis (parasites) - with every sip. There's nothing they can do to change it.
So, what can I do? build a well with your help and the help of others.
I want every step I take to matter. I'm asking for pledges per foot, per mile, per km, or flat out donations to help achieve my goal.
Nobody can do everything, but everyone can do something.
I can not do it alone and hope you'll join me in helping them now. They need our help now more than ever!

Why It Matters
Did you know nearly 1 billion people don't have safe water to drink?
Together, we can change that. Let's fund a new source of drinking water for those who suffer needlessly without it!
Our gifts will be used to construct or rehabilitate a water project, like a well or sand dam, in Africa. We'll see pictures, GPS coordinates, and updates as they come in from the actual water project we fund so we can celebrate the results along with the community we help.
