Dear Friends & Family

As an international service organization, members of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. are committed to bringing awareness to international issues and concerns. While water treatment plants clean most of the water we drink in the US, much simpler treatment systems can make a huge difference to people living without a realiably clean water source. Please join the Westchester Alumnae Chapter members in supporting our mentees of the Dr. Betty Shabazz Delta Academy and Dr. Jeanne L. Noble Institute's "Better Water for a Better World" Centennial Torch STEM Project! There are too many men, women and children in impoverished nations that don't have access to clean drinking water, something we take for granted in the US.

In honor of the Sorority's Centennial Celebration, we have set a modest goal of $2,013. With your support you can help our chapter and mentees meet and surpass that goal and aid in drilling a well for a village in an impoverished part of the world.

Want an easy way to save money for this project? Join us in the 2 week water challenge. Pick any two weeks between now and May 31st and drink nothing but water for those two consecutive weeks (not even bottled water). Keep track of the money you would have spent on coffee, tea, soda ... put it aside, in a cup, in an elephant bank. At the end of 2 weeks, donate what you would have spent to this water project. Its that simple! :)

Tell a friend .... Get the Family Involved .... Co-Workers Too!

Thank you for your support! -- Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. -- Westchester Alumnae Chapter!

Why It Matters

Access to clean, safe water unlocks potential

Did you know nearly 1 billion people don't have safe water to drink?

Together, we can change that. Let's fund a new source of drinking water for those who suffer needlessly without it!

Our gifts will be used to construct or rehabilitate a water project, like a well or sand dam, in Africa. We'll see pictures, GPS coordinates, and updates as they come in from the actual water project we fund so we can celebrate the results along with the community we help.

About The Water Project

The Water Project, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization unlocking human potential by providing clean, safe water to communities around the world who suffer needlessly without.

Working with local partners in countries like Kenya, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, and Uganda, we build long lasting water projects that are organized, owned and managed by the communities receiving them.

Together, with our partners we identify, implement, report on and follow up on every project. Then we share the whole story with you to inspire confidence in the work being done and the impact it has.
