Responding Together to Covid-19

All of us are working to prevent this virus in the same way. Clean hands and social distancing are the tools we all have in this fight. But, while you and I can easily grab some soap and have ready access to clean water… not everyone does.

Your gifts can change that by providing reliable access to water points and support...

Handwashing Stations
Clean hands need clean water and we're providing both in the communities we serve.Your gifts will make sure it continues to flow and handwashing remains possible.
Health and Hygiene Training
Our teams have been teaching these lessons for years, and they're needed now more than ever. Help us reach the hundreds of communities we serve.
Homemade Mask Making
With some local supplies and a bit of creativity, our teams - who you support - are teaching families how to craft masks that help prevent the spread of the disease.

Updates from our team

The Water Project's teams are WaSH experts (Water Sanitation and Hygiene). For over 14 years we've installed and repaired water points across Africa while teaching communities about proper hygiene and sanitation. This is the very expertise needed to help stop the spread of Covid-19. And it's why the governments of Kenya and Sierra Leone deem our work there as an essential service. For the last few months, our teams have continued operating while the rest of the country moves into various stages of lockdown and quarantine.

The fear of exposing yourself to the virus every day is real,” said Catherine Chepkemoi, the leader of 1 of our 4 teams working to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in Kenya. “But the driving force, in this […]
“The last time we spoke with Anna Samuel was a year after her self-help group completed the construction of its second sand dam and hand-dug well. Anna used to wake up in the early hours of the morning to travel to a riverbed located more than 2 miles away to get water. The completion of the project changed that. […]
