Perhaps the most encouraging report we've yet received is that there is water at the site. About 30 feet below ground there appears to be a good supply of ground water. As is often the case in these water projects, it's not a lack of water, but rather a lack of access. Now that water is known to be within a very usable depth we can begin planning what type of pump system will work best. Your donations will be used to seal this protected dug well so that the water is protected. Once sealed, a well pump will draw the water up for use by the school children and the entire community.
In addition to the ground water collection efforts, construction has begun on a water tank to store water that is collected from the well and from the school building's rooftop during the rainy season. The finished tank will
hold over 100,000 liters. As you can see, the beginning work is done mostly by hand. This woman is working to complete the foundation for the tank.
To add the casing and pumps, seal over the hole and provide basic filtration and water treatment, there is much that needs to be done. The money to finish this work comes from our generous donors. Your donation today will go directly to this project. You will see the difference you are making as we continue to receive updates on the construction efforts.
There is much to be thankful for!
