A Year Later: Water for Income Generation Project!

Brian J., 12, recalled what life was like in the Shitirira Community before his community's spring was protected last year.

"Water fetched by a child like me was not trusted for domestic use because water could get dirty in the process of scooping," said Brian.

Collecting water is much simpler for Brian and the other community members in the Shitirira Community now.

"Water fetched right now is clean and safe for consumption. I can go fetch water any time of the day without wasting time," Brian continued.

Having ready access to water from the spring has made a difference for Brian, allowing him to collect water for whatever he needs.

"I am now able to sell tree seedlings achieved through irrigation, which in turn has enabled me [to] earn an income," concluded Brian.
