"We used to carry water for use in school. This was tiresome. There were students who carried contaminated water to school [and] later on mixing [it] with clean water. This was hazardous to the entire community," said Jennifer M., a 15-year-old student at Jimarani Primary School.
Jennifer shared how having access to water on the school campus from the rain tank installed last year has made a difference for her and other students. "I can now access clean, safe water every day directly in the school compound for use. We are able to clean our classes every day, wash our hands and have clean drinking water."
Not having to search for water means Jennifer can concentrate on other important things. "As a student of this school, I have enough time to concentrate on my studies and this has positively impacted in my academic performance," she said.
