Kapchemugung' Primary School students used to spend much of their learning time collecting water since their school had insufficient water sources. And sadly, much of the water they collected made those who consumed it sick with water-related illnesses, causing students to miss even more time in class.
"We used to take breaks from class [for] hours to go fetch water in the village across the road to provide water for all school needs such as cooking, drinking, and cleaning," said young Francis.
But after we installed a large rain tank on the campus last year, things have been different for Francis and his classmates.
"Access to clean, safe, sufficient water has been made easy and affordable to all members of the school. We now access water that is safe directly in the school compound at any time of need," said Francis.
"As a student of this school, I do enjoy ample time to do revisions (studying), and this has been fruitful as my academic performance has improved drastically," concluded Francis.
With more time in class, Francis' academic experience has improved, and his future is looking bright.
