Bintu, a 14-year-old girl in Rosint, shared how difficult it was for her to find water before the community well was rehabilitated last year. "It was challenging and painful [for] me and, I believe, all the children living in this community. I had to fetch water from this well using [an] old container and rope. I had to go [to another] community for water when this one dried up in the dry season. Or I [had to] go to the stream, which was very muddy. Sometimes, the water was very dirty with earthworms underneath the water and other dead animals in the dry season."
Now that she has access to a water point that provides clean water, she commented on the difference it has made in her life. "I am very excited for having such [an] opportunity in my community for the first time. It is a dream come true. It has impacted my life in easing the burden of going to the stream and in a neighboring community. Clean and safe drinking water is accessible and available throughout the year."
