Salome, 18, recalled what life was like in Lutali before her community’s spring was protected last year.
"I used to have a hard time at the water point since I would fall and get hurt due to the slippery state of the spring," said Salome.
But life is much simpler and safer for Salome and the other community members in Lutali now.
Salome said, "I am now able to fetch water easily without falling or even contaminating the water itself."
Having ready access to water from the spring has made a difference for Salome, even in her academic success.
"Since I was [an exam] candidate last year, I had a lot of time to spend on books hence improving greatly in my studies. I also managed to pass in my exams," Salome concluded.
Thank you for helping Salome access clean water and gain back the valuable time that she needed to put toward learning and creating an opportunity for a brighter future.
Right now, there are others just like Salome in neighboring communities that desperately need safe water access. Your support will immediately go to work to provide a clean water project - and we can’t wait to introduce you to the next person you’ll help.
