Salay T., 11, recalled what life was like at DEC Karma Primary School before her school's well was rehabilitated last year.
"It was very difficult for the pupils of this school for so many years. We had to go to the stream during [our] lunch hour. By the time we got back from the stream, we were already late [to class]. Also, some of us got sick because the stream [water] is not pure," said Salay.
Collecting water is much simpler and safer for Salay and the other students at DEC Karma Primary School.
"We appreciate you for your immediate response to our aid. Now, we don't go to the stream anymore. Most of the illnesses we have been experiencing because of the water we drank from the stream have been stopped," said Salay.
Having ready access to water from the well has made a difference for Salay, allowing her to access water when she needs it and no fear of becoming ill when consuming water.
Right now, there are others in neighboring communities that desperately need safe water access. Your support will immediately go to work to provide a clean water project - and we can't wait to introduce you to the next person you'll help.
