Harmony S., 11, recalled how challenging life was for him in Mahondo before his community’s spring was protected last year.
"Our water point was open and fetching water was so difficult. Most of the time, it could be dirty, and this made my mother to always beat me for not being careful on collection of water," said Harmony.
But life is much less burdensome for Harmony now.
"Getting water is so easy, and I do not have trouble. This has impacted me positively that [I] am able to get water and also have time to play," said Harmony.
Having ready access to water from the spring has made a difference for Harmony, allowing him to avoid punishment due to his mother's frustration with the daily water crisis. Thankfully he has even been able to enjoy some childhood activities.
"What the water point has helped me to achieve is going to school with clean water for drinking. I also get more time after school and this gives me peace," Harmony concluded.
Thank you for helping Harmony access clean water to drink and retrieve more time to enjoy peace in his life.
Right now, there are others just like him in neighboring communities that desperately need safe water access. Your support will immediately go to work to provide a clean water project - and we can’t wait to introduce you to the next person you’ll help.
