Life for students at Gimariani Primary School used to be challenging due to the lack of available water.
"Previously, when the tank had not been constructed in this institution of ours, as a student, it was so tiresome and challenging as [I] was supposed to bring water from home, which is far away from school," said 14-year-old Ashilyne M.
But life is different for Ashilyne and her classmates since we installed a rain tank last year.
"Availability of water in this school has greatly impacted my life positively. This is because I am no longer bringing water from home, which was very tiresome. Additionally, [there is] no wastage of time thus, I am able to concentrate on my studies," said Ashilyne.
"My goal was to improve in academic performance, which has come through now. This is because there is no longer wastage of time looking for water, thus [we are] fetching water in the school compound, which is safe and clean for drinking," concluded Ashilyne.
