A Year Later: Improved Grades and Less Illness!

Before Shisia Spring was protected last year, Francis, 13, used to hate collecting water.

He said, "Most of the time, I used to boycott once I heard my mum talking about fetching water because it wasn't that easy to get water from this point. The major problem was how to access the water since there were no stairs, nor a clear passage to the spring."

But now things are different. "There's not any single day that I have ever missed going to the spring, no matter the time of the day. I'm always delighted in doing so because no more crowding is experienced and is also easy to keep time," said Francis.

He continued, "Since the spring was protected, many things have changed. Academically, my grades have improved since I never waste time fetching water. Health-wise, I can proudly say I have never complained of any illnesses related to water considering the fact that we now have a chlorine dispenser close to the water point."

"My parents have also achieved a lot from the spring and I'm confident that they will never experience any difficulties in taking care of all my basic needs," he concluded.
