A Year Later: Improved Sanitation and Patient Services!

Nurse Janet Alieu, 26, recalled what life was like at the Susu Gospel Health Clinic before the health center's well was rehabilitated last year.

"Fetching water was difficult before the construction of this water point. There was no water to clean the labor room after a pregnant woman had delivered. We [went] to other communities to fetch water," said Janet.

Collecting water is now simpler for Janet, the other nurses, patients, and the community members who rely on the well at Susu Gospel Health Clinic.

"Fetching water [has] become easy since the completion of this project. We no longer go out to the community to fetch water," continued Janet.

Having ready water access has made a difference for Janet, allowing her and the other staff members to improve the sanitation of the clinic and provide better patient services.

"I have achieved goals that are important towards the clinic. There is sufficient water to clean the labor room and also to use at the restroom. We are also able to use the handwashing station due to the sufficient water we get from the water point," concluded Janet.
