Shalyne, 8, said, "It was tedious to walk to [the] spring to fetch water and back. Other times we could be forced to queue as we wait for our turn to get water given that we shared it with other community members. A lot of study time was wasted during this time.
"Considering that water is available in the school compound [now], we no longer make trips to the spring. We simply walk to the tank and fetch water easily and faster. This has allowed us to enjoy our breaktime by playing unlike before when we could go to look for water during breaktime and game time.
"Now, I always look forward to going to school each morning because sufficient time is spent in class. The classroom and latrines are cleaned every morning which has improved our hygiene standards."
