Isatu Bangura, 18, recalled what life was like in Neneh Koroh before her community’s well was installed last year.
"Years ago, we had to go down to the swamp to fetch water for our domestic work and for drinking. We didn't go to school on time because the way to the swamp, where we normally fetched water from, was far from our houses. The road was also hilly with lots of stumps, which sometime[s] [made] us fall on the ground and break our buckets," Isatu recalled.
But life is much less burdensome for Isatu and the other community members in Neneh Koroh now.
"Now we have a lot of time to prepare ourselves to go to school, [and] the water is safe for drinking," she shared.
Having ready access to water from the well has made a difference for Isatu, allowing her time to prioritize her education.
"For me, my prayers were that someday we would no longer go to the swamp to fetch water. The grace of God and you have helped us with [getting] safe drinking water," she concluded.
Thank you for helping Isatu access clean water and no longer have to travel far to a distant swamp, missing out on school. She can now focus on her future.
Right now, there are others just like her in neighboring communities that desperately need safe water access. Your support will immediately go to work to provide a clean water project - and we can’t wait to introduce you to the next person you’ll help.
