A Year Later: More Time for Mathematics!

When we asked 13-year-old Addison what life was like before Itieng'ere Primary School had a rain tank installed last year, he said: "Before, to get water was so challenging, because I had to look for water most of [the] time, thereby wasting a lot of time, thus leading me to poor academic performance."

Addison continued, "Sometimes, I was coming back from the stream when my clothes [had] become so wet that I [had] to go back home to sun dry them because I didn't have another school uniform."

But now that Addison and his classmates benefit from the water collected in the school's rain tank, things are different.

"[The] reliability of water from the school compound has impacted my life positively. This is because there is no more wastage of time going outside the school compound looking for water, and this has resulted in my good [academic] performance," said Addison.

Addison's future is looking bright. He shared, "My goal is to improve in academic performance, which has now come true, because most of the time I am concentrating in classwork, especially mathematics where I used to miss the lesson mostly."
