The students at Munanga Primary School used to waste much of their day's time and energy collecting water instead of learning.
"It was very tiresome for me carrying water and books in the morning," said 14-year-old Shazine N. "Much of [the] time meant for studies was going to waste since we had to move outside the school compound looking for water for drinking and other domestic use, which was very tiresome too."
But last year, we installed a well on the school campus, and since then, things have been different for students.
"[The] availability of water in this school has impacted my life positively because I am now drinking safe, clean water anytime I need water, unlike before," said Shazine. "More so, we are no longer prone to water-related ailments as [we were] before [from] consuming contaminated water."
With more time in school and less time suffering from water-related illnesses, Shazine's future looks promising.
