Eleven-year-old Alex shared what life was like before Violet Inganji spring was protected in his community of Bukhaywa last year. "Before the project, getting water was time-consuming and always ended up with lots of quarrels with other water users due to [the] scramble to be the next user."
But things have been different for Alex and fellow community members since the spring's protection. He continued, "Now, since the completion, all I have to do is come with my containers and fetch water, then go home. No more scrambling or quarreling at the water point."
Being able to access water quicker has allowed more time for Alex to do other things he enjoys. He shared, "Doing house chores has become easier and better. I get to finish my chores quickly and get to meet up with friends to catch up and also play some games that I like."
