A Year Later: Plenty of water available!

A year ago, your generous donation helped Kitondo Primary School in Kenya access clean water – creating a life-changing moment for Jesca. Thank you!

A Year Later: Plenty of water available!

Last year, the students of Kitondo Primary School had to collect water every morning and carry their heavy containers to school for inspection. If they did not show up with water, they were punished and sent to collect water during school time.

“Before the construction of this project, life was very hard," said 12-year-old Jesca K.

"We used to walk for water during break time. I did not like this aspect of consuming my free time for a tedious activity. I would only concentrate a little when I [got] back from the river. This kept my performance not good at school.”

But after the school's rain tank was installed, things changed for Jesca.

“Now, in a blink of an eye, I have access to the water tank and draw water very fast. I cannot miss school now. [I have no] fear of being sent to fetch water. So far, I can attest of the much-saved time being very useful to me for my studies. I have had ample time to study [and] do my revision, as well as my homework,” Jesca said.

Now that Jesca has plenty of water readily available, she has other plans as well.

“Since the water tank has had water for the first time, in the coming moons, I plan to get involved in various agricultural projects in our school.”

Everyone is thankful for water!
