A Year Later: Protected Spring, Positive Impact!

Florence Anyango, 40, recalled what life was like in the Ebuhayi Community before its spring was protected last year.

"Getting water from this water point was very difficult in that the area was swampy and inaccessible. There were no staircases, and so mud was all over," Florence shared.

Collecting water is now less challenging for Florence and the other community members in Ebuhayi.

"Currently [I] am a happy beneficiary. It is so easy to get water and so fast. The staircases built are very efficient and so convenient. This has impacted my life very positively, for I take the shortest time possible to get water and get back home for other work," she added.

Having ready access to water from the spring has made a difference for Florence. She now has the opportunity to collect water without that task consuming all her time.

"Plans that this water point has helped me achieve is adding another animal. Initially, I only had one cow, and getting feed and water was not easy. Currently, [I] can farm and get more time to get water to give to my animals," Florence concluded.
