Farmer Naomi Wekaya, 23, recalled what life was like in Muting'ong'o before her community’s spring was protected last year.
"Water used to get dirty because it was open to all kinds of contaminations. Also, [I] used to consume alot of time collecting water because we had to wait [for] it to be clear first, so this made us collect water from morning to evening," Naomi shared.
But life is much simpler and more convenient for Naomi and the other community members in Muting'ong'o now.
"[The] water is clean, and [there's] no time wasting as before. Accessing the water point has been easy and safe for everyone, even children," she continued.
Having ready access to water from the spring has made a difference for Naomi, allowing her to collect clean water safely.
"[I am an] individual [who] has used this water to repair our house, which was in [a] bad state. Also, [I] am using it to water vegetables at the farm this dry season," she concluded.
Thank you for helping Naomi access clean water and have the resources to repair her home and water her crops. Having a home to flourish in and crops to eat or sell will empower Naomi to build a better life.
Right now, there are others just like her in neighboring communities that desperately need safe water access. Your support will immediately go to work to provide a clean water project - and we can’t wait to introduce you to the next person you’ll help.
