A Year Later: Strong and Healthy Children!

Yabom Posseh Kamara, 65, recalled what life was like in the Madina Community before her community's well was rehabilitated last year.

"I want to say thanks to everyone. In the past, when this water well was not, there was suffering. Our children were getting sick, and unless we [went] to the unprotected water source to get water, we were suffering [to] get water," said trader and vice chairman of the water user committee Yabom.

Collecting water is now much more manageable and accessible for Yabom and the other community members in Madina.

"Now, we are not suffering again for getting water, and want to thank everyone. Now we want to say plenty! plenty!" continued Yabom.

Having ready access to water from the well has made a difference for Yabom, allowing her peace knowing her children can drink water and stay healthy.

"Our children don't vomit and frequently toilet anymore. My children are very strong and healthy. There are no more waterborne diseases in my community," concluded Yabom.
