Farmer Caroline Amisi, 35, recalled what life was like in the Shianda Community before her community's spring was protected last year.
"This water point was an open pool. We used to fetch water during the day because it was cloudy in the morning. There was algae everywhere in the source, though we used to clean it frequently. We accessed water, but not really clean water," said Caroline.
But collecting water is much safer for Caroline and the other community members in Shianda now.
"The spring has always discharged clean water ever since it was protected. I feel good coming to collect water," continued Caroline.
Having ready access to water from the spring has made a difference for Caroline, allowing her to trust the water she is drinking.
"It has been our wish to access clean and safe water. We have access to clean water. I feel our plans have been achieved. We have good health, something worth celebrating," Caroline said.
Right now, there are others in neighboring communities that desperately need safe water access. Your support will immediately go to work to provide a clean water project - and we can't wait to introduce you to the next person you'll help.
