A Year Later: "This water is clean and pure."

December, 2023

A year ago, your generous donation helped the Madina Community in Sierra Leone access clean water – creating a life-changing moment for Isatu. Thank you!

A Year Later:

Trader Isatu Kargbo, 51, recalled what life was like in the Madina Community before her community's well was rehabilitated last year.

"Before this time, we were suffering a lot to fetch clean and pure water. It was not easy for me to water my garden, and sometimes my vegetables died just because of [the] shortage of water in my community. It was difficult to perform ablution (daily prayers requiring cleansing with water)," said Isatu.

Collecting water is now much easier for Isatu and the other community members in Madina.

"We are [not] suffering anymore to fetch clean and pure water. I use this water to [do] laundry, [and] water my beans, and I use this water to cook. I use this water to perform ablution to go to the mosque. So we are praying for you people. I use this water to do everything. This water never drys," continued Isatu.

Having ready access to water from the well has made a difference for Isatu, allowing her to perform her daily tasks without facing the lack of water.

"This water is clean and pure," concluded Isatu.

Isatu performs her prayers with water.

Right now, there are others in neighboring communities that desperately need safe water access. Your support will immediately go to work to provide a clean water project - and we can't wait to introduce you to the next person you'll help.
