A Year Later: "This water point has helped improve our lives."

November, 2023

A year ago, your generous donation helped Malap Community in Sierra Leone access clean water – creating a life-changing moment for Abubakkar. Thank you!

A Year Later:

Farmer Abubakkar Sesay, 34, recalled what life was like in the Malap Community before his community's well was rehabilitated last year.

"So many years ago in this village, we usually went to the river to fetch water, which was so dangerous for [us] because many wild animals went to the same water point where we fetched. There were many illnesses we get from the water," said Abubakkar.

Collecting water is much easier for Abubakkar and the other community members in Malap now.

"This water point has impacted our lives because we don't go to the river again to fetch water. The availability of this water point has helped me as a farmer. When we are going to our farms, we get water from this water point and go with it," he continued.

Having ready access to water from the well has made a difference for Abubakkar, allowing him to have water he can trust whenever he needs.

"This water point has helped us achieve good health. This water point has helped improve our lives," he concluded.

Right now, there are others in neighboring communities that desperately need safe water access. Your support will immediately go to work to provide a clean water project - and we can't wait to introduce you to the next person you'll help.
