Faith I., 12, recalled what life was like at Givole Primary School before her school’s well was installed last year.
"It was very hard because we used to go for water outside the school compound to a stream which is quite a distance from [our] school. It was so tiresome, and fetching water after rains [made] the footpath to the stream very slippery. You could only collect unsafe water as that was the only water point available," said Faith.
But water collection is much simpler for Faith and the other students at Givole Primary School now.
"It is very easy because the borehole is near the school. The water from [the] borehole is safe for drinking, unlike what we used to draw from the stream," Faith continued.
Having ready access to water from the well has made a difference for Faith, allowing her time to focus on learning.
"The water point has helped me get enough time for learning. Currently, we don't waste much of our time going for water outside the school. Besides that, I used to be a victim of waterborne diseases, but since [the] installation of the water point, I have not experienced the same challenge," concluded Faith.
Thank you for helping Faith access clean water and improve her health so she can build a brighter future.
Right now, there are others just like her in neighboring communities that desperately need safe water access. Your support will immediately go to work to provide a clean water project - and we can’t wait to introduce you to the next person you’ll help.

Faith near the well.
