A Year Later: "To me, this water is a blessing."

September, 2023

A year ago, your generous donation helped Mudutsu Community in Kenya access clean water – creating a life-changing moment for Metrine. Thank you!

A Year Later:

Metrine Atira, a 38-year-old farmer, recalled what life was like in Mudutsu Community before her community's spring was protected last year.

"Before the completion of the project, it was hard to access the water point because the place was slippery and sloped," said Metrine.

But access to water is much easier for Metrine and the other community members in Mudutsu now.

"Now it is easy to access the water point because we have stairs that facilitate access to the spring," Metrine said.

Having ready access to water from the protected spring has made a difference for Metrine, allowing her water to grow crops year-round and produce additional income for her family.

"To me, this water is a blessing. I have really benefited from the water because, during dry seasons, I use the water to water my plants. I cannot lack fresh vegetables to eat with my family and sell some of them to my nearby neighbors, thereby earning some income," shared Metrine.

Thank you for helping her access clean water and create a more positive future.

Right now, there are others just like her in neighboring communities that desperately need safe water access. Your support will immediately go to work to provide a clean water project - and we can't wait to introduce you to the next person you'll help.
