Hendrix A., 11, recalled what life was like in the Indulusia Community before her community's spring was rehabilitated last year.
"It was difficult because animals used to graze around the water point and even sometimes contaminate the water source by stepping directly in it," said Hendrix.
However, collecting water that is not contaminated is much easier for Hendrix and the other community members in Indulsia now.
"The water point has been well fenced, therefore preventing water from contamination [making] it safe for me to use," said Hendrix.
Having ready access to water from the well has made a difference for Hendrix, allowing her to collect water quickly and still have time to help her family.
"It has helped me assist my mother at home by irrigating her vegetable garden that raises funds for my fees at school and daily livelihood purposes," concluded Hendrix.
Right now, there are others in neighboring communities that desperately need safe water access. Your support will immediately go to work to provide a clean water project - and we can't wait to introduce you to the next person you'll help.
