A Year Later: "Water is Clean and Available Anytime!"

Joyson O., 12, recalled what life was like for him in Chimoroni Community before his community's spring was protected last year.

"Getting water was very difficult; I used to queue for two hours to fetch water. During school days, I used to go to school late because my mother used to send me [out] very early to fetch water," shared Joyson.

But life is much less burdensome for Joyson, the other children, and community members in Chimoroni now.

"The water point has impacted my life positively. I am no longer going to school late because my mother can fetch water since water is clean and available anytime," he continued.

Having ready access to water from the protected spring has made a difference for Joyson by allowing him to focus on his academic goals with his extra time.

"The water point has helped me achieve [more] in academic performance since the time wasted is now recovered," Joyson concluded.
