"Water scarcity was very much, I used to walk for very long distances, and I did not have a donkey. My trips to the water point were very many, and I would get exhausted. All day I would spend time fetching water," said Grace Kilisya.
"The water has helped me a lot. I can build houses in my compound and no longer live in thatched grass or semi-permanent structures. I get very clean water for drinking, wash clothes daily, use the water for cooking, and do a lot using the water from this project. I use water for handwashing, and my family members no longer complain of sicknesses. I want to continue farming vegetables, bananas, sugarcane, and mangoes using the water."
