Seventy-five-year-old farmer and treasurer of the Water User Committee Pa Salufu Kamara recalled what life was like in the Gbom Karma Community before his community’s well was rehabilitated last year.
"Before we went down to the [the] stream. That time [the] water was not pure," said Salufu.
Collecting water is now simpler and faster for Salafu and the other community members.
“Now [life] is better than before, because [I] am drinking good water now,” -Salufu.
Having ready access to water from the well has made a difference for Salufu, allowing him and other community members to grow vegetables using the water from the well.
"We use the water for our vegetable plantation or growing crops," he said.
