"We used to carry water from home every day, which was very tiresome because you also have books to carry," said Beatrice. "At the moment, everything is running smoothly because we have water within our reach. We have time to do revisions (study), and that has really helped us improve our academic performance. We are able to attend school throughout [the school year] because the rate of waterborne diseases has gone down."
"Everything has been made easy for both teachers and students since we have water within the school compound," said Vincent Okoth, teacher, 45. "Our performance and sanitation standards have really improved as well. At the moment, students are able to concentrate and do their classwork without them being worried that they will be asked to stop their lesson to go and get water."
