Less Burden for Kadiatu in Fetching Water!

Twenty-six-year-old trader and pump caretaker Kadiatu Dumbuya recalled what life was like in the Laminaya Community before her community's well was implemented last year.

"This water well is a huge blessing to me because life without access to safe drinking water is difficult. I used to fetch water from the swamp to do everything at home. The poor state of the water and the long walking distance to the swamp were a major challenge to me," said Kadiatu.

Collecting water is now more convenient and safer for Kadiatu and the other community members in Laminaya.

"The project has helped me to fetch water with less burden. Since the well is close to our house, I am now able to fetch water easily [with] no need to go to the swamp. As a result, I have enough time to do work at home, such as cooking and laundering," Kadiatu said.

Having ready access to water from the well has made a difference, allowing Kadiatu to have sufficient water and time to meet her daily responsibilities without stress.
