A Different Kind of Water Challenge
Help Fund a Water Project
With all the recent light on the ALS ice bucket challenge that has gone viral, I've been thinking about how we use our water. While I can appreciate all the good the ice bucket challenge has done for the ALS cause, I can't help but think of the millions who should only be so lucky to have buckets to dump on themselves. There are many, many people in this world who are very ill and dying due to their lack of access to clean drinking water, something we take for granted. It just seems wrong to me.
So when I was tagged to complete the ALS ice bucket challenge, rather than wasting our precious resources, I made a donation to ALS. I also started (and was the first donor to) this fundraising campaign. I chose to donate water to those who could actually use it, rather than be wasteful, and both causes see benefit.
I hope you'll join me in donating what you can to a wonderful cause, in an effort to make a tangible difference to those who so desperately need it. The water project has promised me updates on where our money goes, and I promise I will update all donors with our progress.

Why It Matters
Did you know nearly 1 billion people don't have safe water to drink?
Together, we can change that. Let's fund a new source of drinking water for those who suffer needlessly without it!
Our gifts will be used to construct or rehabilitate a water project, like a well or sand dam, in Africa. We'll see pictures, GPS coordinates, and updates as they come in from the actual water project we fund so we can celebrate the results along with the community we help.
