I’m sure you didn’t know that $23 can provide one person in Africa clean water, but did you know the average person spends $23 on beverages other than water throughout the course of two weeks? Are you willing to drink only water for two weeks? If I can have clean water then why can’t the families in Africa have clean water? I have a dream of being a medical missionary someday in Africa, and this is my way of getting involved to start that journey. It saddens me that babies, children, and families have to drink dirty water on a day-to-day basis. In America, at least where I come from, there is ample fresh water sources and water treatment facilities. I couldn't imagine not having that a part of my life. I even have the privilege of showering in clean water, on top of having clean water to drink. Over half of the developing world's primary schools don't have access to water and sanitation facilities. Without toilets, girls often drop out at puberty. If I have the opportunity to have such facilities and go to school, why can’t these kids? I’m so passionate in wanting to make a difference. However, what is cool about this project is that it isn’t just me making the difference; it is you and your generous hearts! I would be ecstatic and our friends in Africa would be very thankful if you would be willing to join me in this race to clean water!!

Did you know nearly 1 billion people don't have safe water to drink?
Together, we can change that. Let's fund a new source of drinking water for those who suffer needlessly without it!
Our gifts will be used to construct or rehabilitate a water project, like a well or sand dam, in Africa. We'll see pictures, GPS coordinates, and updates as they come in from the actual water project we fund so we can celebrate the results along with the community we help.
The Water Project, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization unlocking human potential by providing clean, safe water to communities around the world who suffer needlessly without.
Working with local partners in countries like Kenya, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, and Uganda, we build long lasting water projects that are organized, owned and managed by the communities receiving them.
Together, with our partners we identify, implement, report on and follow up on every project. Then we share the whole story with you to inspire confidence in the work being done and the impact it has.
