When I was organising my 50th birthday celebrations, I felt a great sense of gratitude for my life - what I have experienced and the people I have had the pleasure of sharing it with. I also had a nagging sense of unease. An awful lot of expense and kerfuffle for one person!
I realised there was a solution - make it about something bigger than me.
I had read about The Water Project and loved the simplicity of the idea - that everyone deserves access to clean water. So far from first world problems. Too many people suffer needlessly - children walking miles to fetch water, people getting sick and even dying from drinking dirty water.
Therefore, you are invited to help turn my 50th birthday into a much bigger, community and global celebration by donating to The Water Project. The money raised by our little community will be used to partner with a community in Africa to provide a fresh water solution. We will be allocated a community to help and we can watch our water project unfold together, allowing us to connect in a way that has somewhat been lost in the western world. Please feel free to invite others to participate.
I look forward to this ongoing connection, watching our water project unfold and making a difference with you.
In peace, love and gratitude,
