According to water.org, 3.4 million die each year due to preventable water related diseases. It would take 20 Billion dollars to give the entire world clean water. To put that into perspective, Americans spent 41 Billion dollars alone on black friday in 2009. In ONE DAY, American citizens spent double what it would take to solve the "clean water epidemic". Church Under the Bridge Midland founder Evan Rogers, explains why the church is a critical part of leading this cause to spend a portion of what you would spend on black friday and give fresh water to a family that will eventually die because we as comfortable Amercians would rather ignore this disheartening fact and act as if it is out of our hands to help. In the book of Isaiah 58 the prophet says,
No, this is the kind of fast I want.
I want you to remove the sinful chains,
to tear away the ropes of the burdensome yoke,
to set free the oppressed,
and to break every burdensome yoke.
7 I want you to share your food with the hungry
and to provide shelter for homeless, oppressed people.
When you see someone naked, clothe him!
Don’t turn your back on your own flesh and blood!
If we take what Scripture says literal then we should not only have a concern for the poor, needy, and oppressed but we should ACT on this need. In the book, Fast Living, author Scott C. Todd PhD says, The good news of Jesus Christ, proclaimed and demonstrated, is the most powerful anti-poverty strategy there is. So why wait? God has given us as Americans the resources to help all nations with clean water. Time to take action and stop wishing you could help and actually do it.

Did you know nearly 1 billion people don't have safe water to drink?
Together, we can change that. Let's fund a new source of drinking water for those who suffer needlessly without it!
Our gifts will be used to construct or rehabilitate a water project, like a well or sand dam, in Africa. We'll see pictures, GPS coordinates, and updates as they come in from the actual water project we fund so we can celebrate the results along with the community we help.
The Water Project, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization unlocking human potential by providing clean, safe water to communities around the world who suffer needlessly without.
Working with local partners in countries like Kenya, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, and Uganda, we build long lasting water projects that are organized, owned and managed by the communities receiving them.
Together, with our partners we identify, implement, report on and follow up on every project. Then we share the whole story with you to inspire confidence in the work being done and the impact it has.
