The mission of this organization is particularly close to our hearts because of the significant role water plays in our life - Frank might not be with us without it! As a baby, Frank was diagnosed with nephrogenic diabetes insipidus, a condition that causes him to need large amounts of water every day to remain hydrated. Essentially, his body does not retain the water he takes in and he is constantly thirsty. It is a rare condition and Frank was hospitalized for quite some time as a young one before doctors were able to identify it. If he didn't have access to clean water, he would not have survived.
We think of other small children and families without water on a regular basis - for drinking, cleaning, bathing - or even for little ones with a similar condition - and how often we take it for granted. A well in our names would repay our gratitude for daily access to water as well as other parts of our daily life that we are so fortunate to have here but may not always realize.

Did you know nearly 1 billion people don't have safe water to drink?
Together, we can change that. Let's fund a new source of drinking water for those who suffer needlessly without it!
Our gifts will be used to construct or rehabilitate a water project, like a well or sand dam, in Africa. We'll see pictures, GPS coordinates, and updates as they come in from the actual water project we fund so we can celebrate the results along with the community we help.
The Water Project, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization unlocking human potential by providing clean, safe water to communities around the world who suffer needlessly without.
Working with local partners in countries like Kenya, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, and Uganda, we build long lasting water projects that are organized, owned and managed by the communities receiving them.
Together, with our partners we identify, implement, report on and follow up on every project. Then we share the whole story with you to inspire confidence in the work being done and the impact it has.
