It never took too much of an effort to get George Nyatawa to tell stories about growing up in his home country of Kenya. One question, really. You'd ask about the culture and he'd be off, going on, and on, and on with countless memories -- his boisterous laugh captivating you all the more. But there'd always been a hint of gratitude as he concluded. He considered himself lucky.
Others in Kenya, and many other parts of Africa, aren't as lucky. According to the Centers for Disease Control, 780 million people worldwide do not have access to clean water -- and 31 percent of them live in African countries south of the Sahara desert (like Kenya!). The Water Project reports that less than a third of people in sub-Saharan Africa have access to a proper toilet.
I hope you'll consider joining us as we raise money to help fund a water project. Just think. We could provide clean, safe and reliable water to a community, completely transforming its future. Today, too many children suffer needlessly -- walking miles for dirty water that can make them sick. We could change this. Please make a donation in honor of George, a proud Kenyan who passed away at age 60 on April 26. Thank you for your consideration!
Oh, and spread the word!

Did you know nearly 1 billion people don't have safe water to drink?
Together, we can change that. Let's fund a new source of drinking water for those who suffer needlessly without it!
Our gifts will be used to construct or rehabilitate a water project, like a well or sand dam, in Africa. We'll see pictures, GPS coordinates, and updates as they come in from the actual water project we fund so we can celebrate the results along with the community we help.
The Water Project, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization unlocking human potential by providing clean, safe water to communities around the world who suffer needlessly without.
Working with local partners in countries like Kenya, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, and Uganda, we build long lasting water projects that are organized, owned and managed by the communities receiving them.
Together, with our partners we identify, implement, report on and follow up on every project. Then we share the whole story with you to inspire confidence in the work being done and the impact it has.
