Viele von uns haben keine Idee, wie es ist durstig zu sein und ich meine nicht durstig nach schönen Frauen, Netflix, Bier oder Ähnlichem, sondern nach Wasser, einem essentiellenGrundbedürfnis, was aber leider noch sehr vielen Menschen fehlt. Denn es haben immernoch über 600 Millionen Menschen keinen Zugang zu sauberem Trinkwasser, sie trinken das was sie beschaffen können, aus entfernten Seen oder Flüssen, sie gehen stundenlang. Nur um an Wasser zu kommen, was nichtmal sauber ist(und viele von uns können sich nichtmal einen Morgen ohne ihren Kaffee vorstellen). Ja ich weiß, es ist immer das gleiche, was die Hilfsorganisationen berichten, immer diese Rede von der Wasserknappheit, immer werden Krankheiten mit komischen, griechisch klingenden Namen erwähnt, die durch den Konsum von verschmutztem Wasser hervorgerufen werden, und immer die Kinder, die nicht ihr 5. Lebensjahr erreichen, weil sie vorher sterben an Mangelernährung oder Krankheiten, und dann werden noch immer dieselben Bilder gezeigt, einmal vor der Spende und dann nach der Spende.
Aber es ist halt die Realität. Nur weil man es nicht in den Nachrichten oder im Newsfeed sieht, heißt es nicht, dass es nicht da ist und ich finde man kann da einfach nicht wegschauen und nichts tun, als ob nichts wäre oder nichts tun weil man ja eh nichts bewirkt. Man macht ja eh keinen Unterschied und ist nur einer von Vielen ...so kann man sich bequem hinter der Masse verstecken. Ich bin auch nur ein einfacher Student, der auf BAföG angewiesen ist, aber ich habe im Kindergarten gelernt meinen Nächsten zu lieben, und genau das möchte ich mit dieser Kampagne und eurer Hilfe auch in die Tat umsetzen. Jetzt genug um den heißen Brei geredet:

Denn alleine kann man nicht die Welt retten und deswegen sind vor allem die Menschen, die Hilfe brauchen, auf euch angewiesen. Ich glaube durch gegenseitige Hilfe kann man auch arme Menschen reich machen, also : Give Five and decide for a smile! Peace out

Um zu wissen wo und wie genau Hilfe benötigt wird arbeitet sie mit lokalen NGOs, Fachleuten und der Gemeinschaft, der geholfen wird, zusammen. Sie hilft auf verschieden Wegen: Installation von Wasserpumpen, Regenwasserauffangsystemen, sanitären Einrichtungen, Dämmen oder einfach nur das Aufklären über Hygiene und wasserbedingte Krankheiten. Ist ein Projekt erstmal installiert, sorgt die Organisation, beispielsweise durch lokale Mechaniker oder durch Zusammenarbeit mit anderen NGOs dafür, dass dieses Projekt regelmäßig kontrolliert wird und notfalls für Reparaturen gesorgt wird, falls es größere Probleme gibt, die nicht von der Gemeinschaft behoben werden können. https://thewaterproject.org/ Ich habe mich für diese Organisation entschieden, da sie im Gegensatz zu vielen anderen "clean-water NGOs" nicht einfach damit wirbt, wie vielen Menschen sie geholfen hat, sondern auch mindestens 5 Jahre lang kontrolliert ob die installierten Projekte(z.B Handpumpen, Regenwasserauffangsysteme)für sauberes Wasser sorgen, notfalls für Reparaturen sorgt und dies auch öffentlich stellt(und auch ehrlich ist wenn keine up to date daten über ein Projekt vorliegen). Denn schätzungsweise 1/3-1/5 aller bisher installierten Wasserpumpen in Afrika sind nicht mehr funktionsfähig, oft weil nicht genug in die Erhaltung der Projekte investiert wurde. Teilen nicht vergessen und danke an alle die spenden! (English) Many of us don't know what it's like to be thirsty, and I don't mean thirsty for pretty woman, Netflix or beer. I mean thirsty for water, an esential basic need, which not everyone has regular access to. Still over 600 million people haven't access to clean water, they drink what they can get, often from lakes or rivers, they have to walk hours just to get water, which isn't even clean(and many of us can't even imagine a morning without coffee). I know, it's always the same story that we hear from the aid agencys, always the water scarcity, they talk always about strange greek sounding illnesses, which are caused by the constant consume of dirty water and they always talk about the kids dying before their 5th birthday, because of malnutrition or illnesses, and always the same pictures of people before the donation and then after the donation.
But it's the truth, just because we don't see it in the News it doesn't mean that it doesn't exist, and that's why I think you can't just look away and do nothing about it, just because you are to small to change something, or just because you are one of many....in this way you can hide comfortably behind the big mass. I'm also just a simple student, but in kindergarten I've learned to love your neighbour as yourself, and that's what I like to put into practice with this campaign and your help.
And now enough of beating about the bush:

Because alone you can't save the world. That's why the humans who need the help depend on you, so: Give five and decide for a smile!
