Who are we?
We are the PY5s and are between 9-10 years old. We come from all different countries but we work together in ICS Cote D’Azur. We are glad to see you!
What are we studying about?
Did you know that not everyone can get water from a sink? We are studying about water and not everyone can get potable water! Many of them have to walk the whole day just to get non potable water that they then have to boil before they can drink it. Women and girls are the ones that can go get water for their family. We also studied Cheru and Kamana, two 5 years old little girls, who both came from Kenya with two different stories. Cheru has to walk for many kilometers to get water with her mom everyday, while Kamama got a water pump installed near her village so her mom and her only have to walk a short distance to access water. Why do we need to donate money for Africa?
People in Africa, many of them, get waterborne disease sickness because they drink dirty water and they don't have the materials to make many kettles or pans to boil the water to get rid of bacteria and germs.They also don’t have enough money to buy some either! So an action we can take is to donate money to an organization called The Water Project so that African can use this money to place more wells and pumps into villages and rural areas to get fresh water and not walk for a LONG time, like they have to do now!
