The Water Project has created a way for ordinary people, like myself, to
contribute to a life-giving cause that touches people across the globe.
I don't know about you, but I think that's awesome! After finding The
Water Project, I thought, this is a perfect way for me to give on a
personal level. Then I thought "could there be other
"strange" people out there who would be interested in joining my efforts?" If you are among the "strange", I invite you to become
apart of this fundraising effort.
The amount needed to fund a well in Uganda or Kenya is $6,500 and
appropriately that is the goal of this effort. (The cost for wells
ranges from $4,500 to $13,000 depending on the location.)
I can recall a story told to a congregation I was apart of by a minister in my hometown of Columbus, Ohio. He visited Africa
some time back on a missions trip. His arrival was celebrated by the
locals who came to meet him. The natives stated that he was, to them,
like their long lost brother Joseph who was sold into slavery but God
was with him. Joseph became a ruler in Egypt having at his disposal food
in a time of famine. He came to the aid of the family whom he had left
behind.
That story resonates in my heart and mind. It reminds me that I am blessed
to be a blessing. It reminds me that I have extended family across the globe that needs what I am able to give.
The Water Project is a fiscally responsible organization. Contributions

Did you know nearly 1 billion people don't have safe water to drink?
Together, we can change that. Let's fund a new source of drinking water for those who suffer needlessly without it!
Our gifts will be used to construct or rehabilitate a water project, like a well or sand dam, in Africa. We'll see pictures, GPS coordinates, and updates as they come in from the actual water project we fund so we can celebrate the results along with the community we help.
The Water Project, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization unlocking human potential by providing clean, safe water to communities around the world who suffer needlessly without.
Working with local partners in countries like Kenya, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, and Uganda, we build long lasting water projects that are organized, owned and managed by the communities receiving them.
Together, with our partners we identify, implement, report on and follow up on every project. Then we share the whole story with you to inspire confidence in the work being done and the impact it has.
