Help Fund a Water Project

Together, we can unlock potential in a developing community by providing clean, safe water.

Dear friends,

"You’re not alone if you had never fully contemplated how lack of water keeps people in poverty. The world is only beginning to take a close look at the root causes of extreme poverty. Almost two in three people lacking access to clean water survive on less than $2 a day. One in three lives on less than $1 a day. Their world and their challenges are foreign to us. Dripping taps in rich countries lose more water than is available to the poorest billion people on earth. It’s no surprise we’ve never put ourselves in their shoes and fully understood how water scarcity perpetuates this cruel cycle of poverty."

See the 2006 Human Development Report for more details regarding the global water crisis: http://www.undp.org/content/undp/en/home/librarypage/hdr/human-development-report-2006/

Please help me reach my goal of $10,000 to sponsor a water project towards helping provide clean, safe, sustainable water to a community. It's more than I can afford on my own, but I hope everyone can spread the word and help me close the gap.

Why It Matters

Access to clean, safe water unlocks potential

Did you know nearly 1 billion people don't have safe water to drink?

Together, we can change that. Let's fund a new source of drinking water for those who suffer needlessly without it!

Our gifts will be used to construct or rehabilitate a water project, like a well or sand dam, in Africa. We'll see pictures, GPS coordinates, and updates as they come in from the actual water project we fund so we can celebrate the results along with the community we help.

About The Water Project

The Water Project, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization unlocking human potential by providing clean, safe water to communities around the world who suffer needlessly without.

Working with local partners in countries like Kenya, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, and Uganda, we build long lasting water projects that are organized, owned and managed by the communities receiving them.

Together, with our partners we identify, implement, report on and follow up on every project. Then we share the whole story with you to inspire confidence in the work being done and the impact it has.
