So many things in this world need fixed ! But- Let's talk about basics:
Water is life. Without water, we would not exist.
884 million people do not have access to clean and safe water. 37% of those people live in Sub-Saharan Africa. 2.4 billion people are without appropriate sanitation.
1 in 8 people world wide do not have access to safe and clean drinking water. (I'll do the math for you, 12.5%)
The average distance that women in Africa and Asia walk to collect water is six kilometres (3.73 Miles) and the weight of water they carry on their heads is about 20kgs (44 pounds)- equivalent to the average airport luggage allowance.
Julian Lennon introduced me to this charity on HIS birthday. The charity is non-profit, and endowed such that all administrative costs are covered, all donations to this page and others are applied 100% to the cause.
I know, the economy has hurt many of us, and maybe you can not donate at this time. You can still help, by having your own campaign, starting one at your church, school or workplace. or just by spreading the word.
Water is life. Imagine being without...

Did you know nearly 1 billion people don't have safe water to drink?
Together, we can change that. Let's fund a new source of drinking water for those who suffer needlessly without it!
Our gifts will be used to construct or rehabilitate a water project, like a well or sand dam, in Africa. We'll see pictures, GPS coordinates, and updates as they come in from the actual water project we fund so we can celebrate the results along with the community we help.
The Water Project, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization unlocking human potential by providing clean, safe water to communities around the world who suffer needlessly without.
Working with local partners in countries like Kenya, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, South Sudan, and Uganda, we build long lasting water projects that are organized, owned and managed by the communities receiving them.
Together, with our partners we identify, implement, report on and follow up on every project. Then we share the whole story with you to inspire confidence in the work being done and the impact it has.
